Auditions, Jobs, and Certifications
All local student dancers are invited to audition for Twin Cities Ballet’s (TCB) 2026 production of A Minnesota Nutcracker!
Student auditions will be held on either Sunday, September 20, at Ballet Royale Minnesota. This is a fantastic opportunity for dancers to participate in a professional ballet production and be part of one of the most popular holiday events in the area. For over 20 years, TCB has welcomed student dancers from any local dance school to participate in its productions. All of TCB’s staff are dedicated to respecting student dancers’ existing commitments and dedication to their current dance studio. Dancers only need to attend one of the audition dates to be cast in the production.
A Minnesota Nutcracker will be performed at Ames Center from December 11–13 and at Northrop Auditorium December 19–20.
Pre-registration is required. To audition, students must complete the registration form and pay the $30 audition fee in advance. Please note the audition fee is non-refundable. We recommend waiting after the parent meeting to make sure you understand the full commitment involved before paying the audition fee.
Sunday, September 20 Audition Times:
4:00–5:00pm: Dancers ages 6-10
5:00–6:30pm: Dancers ages 11+
Dancers ages 11+ with more than 1 year on pointe, please bring your pointe shoes.
Please note, this is a casting audition with mixed ages and levels, so dancers may be released before the end of the audition. An early release does not reflect how well a dancer performed, but indicates they have completed auditions for the roles suited to their age and dance experience.
Mandatory Parent/Guardian Meeting: All parents/guardians must attend a parent meeting in order for their dancer to participate. For the August audition, the parent meeting will take place in person during the audition (in another studio). For the September audition, the parent meeting will take place via Zoom on Thursday, September 17 at 7:30pm. This meeting will cover production protocols, key dates, and the commitment involved.
For the September audition, the Zoom link will be sent out to all pre-registered dancers on Wednesday, September 16. Please email Emily Winn at development@twincitiesballet.org if you have a conflict with the meeting.
