Ongoing Classes and Gatherings

Experience the grace, strength, and spirit of Indian Dance at Nritya Kalakshetra. Step into the vibrant world of movement, rhythm, storytelling, and tradition with classes at Nritya Kalakshetra Academy of Performing Arts, led by celebrated dance guru Acharya Sivanuja Balaji — an accomplished performer, choreographer, and passionate educator dedicated to sharing the beauty of Indian classical and contemporary dance with students of all backgrounds.

Nritya Kalakshetra offers training in:
Bharatanatyam – one of India’s oldest and most expressive classical dance forms
Mohiniyattam – the graceful and lyrical dance tradition from Kerala
Contemporary Movement – blending creativity, expression, technique, and modern choreography

At Nritya Kalakshetra, students don’t just learn dance steps — they experience:
Confidence and stage presence
Discipline and artistic excellence
Cultural appreciation and storytelling
Musicality, flexibility, and expression
A welcoming artistic community

Our classes are designed for children, teens, and adults — whether you are a beginner discovering dance for the first time or an experienced dancer seeking deeper artistic training. Classes are currently offered in a hybrid model, including online and in-person training at Dance Exchange Studio in Edina, Woodbury, Rochester, Plymouth, and Eagan.

Students also receive opportunities to participate in performances, productions, cultural showcases, and immersive artistic experiences throughout the year. Come discover an art form that combines athleticism, emotion, history, and beauty — while becoming part of a growing community that celebrates creativity and culture through dance. New students are warmly welcome to observe or try a class.
