Workshops, Intensives, and Master Classes

Rooted in the work of Jane Hawley, Movement Fundamentals provides tools for embodied research, personal agency, and collaborative creation. Open to dancers (all levels and styles), theater artists, performance makers, somatic practitioners and educators, musicians and vocalists, and anyone interested in embodied creative practice. A variety of sessions will be offered by MF-certified artists, as well as a mini film festival with a guest filmmaker and a Coalescence closing reception.
Thursday, July 23-Saturday, July 25
9:00am-5:00pm
Host: Judith Howard (MF Certified Artist)
Cost: $250 for 3 full days; $90 for 1 day. Payment arrangements can be made.
Contact Judith Howard at jhoward@carleton.edu for details if needed prior to registration.
MF Coalescence is not a technique class. It’s a co-creative intensive where participants:
- Engage in improvisational movement practices
- Investigate their personal relationship to space, body, and others
- Explore movement as both an artistic and healing practice
- Collaborate across disciplines in a non-hierarchical space
- Build community through shared physical inquiry and reflection
