The St. Olaf College Dance Department is seeking a Ballroom instructor for the fall semester to teach our Ballroom I course.
Our fall semester is Thursday, September 4 through Tuesday, December 9 with a Fall Break (October 18-21) and Thanksgiving Break (November 26-30). The course is scheduled on Tuesdays from 10:05-11:00am and Thursdays from 9:55-10:50am.
Course description: Ballroom classes are taught from a social and aesthetic perspective. In this course, students learn fundamental steps, rhythms, and styling in foxtrot, slow waltz, east coast swing, and cha cha. May be repeated with permission of instructor. Pass/No pass only. Offered each semester.
Students sign up for either the Leads section or the Follows section. The enrollment max is 20 in each section with up to 20 couples in the class. The class meets in studio 1. The course is taken mostly by non-dance majors for the Active Body Ole Core requirement. It is graded Pass/No pass.
