Ballet Royale is offering a brand new Student Choreographic Workshop this June! This one-week choreographic workshop includes both dancers seeking to learn and perform new works, and emerging student choreographers seeking to experience the creative process. All dancers and student choreographers attend daily morning ballet and pointe classes, followed by rehearsals to develop and learn new choreography. The workshop is overseen by a professional choreographer in the afternoon.
June 27-July 1, 9:30am-2:30pm
Dancers ages 12 and older. Choreographers ages 15 and older.
Dancers: Receive the opportunity to learn new pieces and work with new choreographers, providing them invaluable experiences, allowing them to grow artistically and technically. Dancers are an important part of the creative process, and play an integral role in bringing choreographers’ visions to life.
Emerging Student Choreographers: Mentored by a professional choreographer, student choreographers receive choreography assignments designed to guide them through the choreographic process, including the conception, selection of music and dancers, and the creation of a new work. They will also receive space, time, and dancers to set a new piece of choreography culminating in a choreographic competition on the last day.
