Are you passionate about dance and eager to inspire the next generation of dancers? We are seeking enthusiastic, patient, and skilled Ballet Instructors and Substitute Instructors to support our Youth Intro to Ballet classes this Fall!

Our intro program focuses on teaching foundational ballet techniques, posture, and coordination in a fun, supportive, and movement-rich environment for young learners. If you love dance and working with kids, we’d love to hear from you!

Primary Class Instructors: Lead weekly scheduled classes throughout the Fall and Winter/Spring sessions.
Substitute Instructors: On-call basis to step in and cover classes on Tuesday evenings or Saturday mornings as needed. (and occasional adult classes on Tuesdays/Wednesdays and Saturdays).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach fundamental ballet techniques, terminology, and creative movement tailored to our littlest dancers and youth beginners.
  • Create a welcoming, encouraging, and structured classroom atmosphere.
  • Plan or execute engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans.
  • Communicate effectively and warmly with young dancers and their parents/guardians.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all students.

Class Schedule and Location:
Classes primarily take place at the Edina Community Center (Edina, Minnesota).

Tuesday evenings from 5:00-8:15pm
Saturday mornings from 9:00am-12:15pm
Intro to Ballet 1: Ages 3-5.5
Intro to Ballet 2: Ages 5.5-7
Level 1/Pre-Teen Ballet: Ages 8-14

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in ballet instruction or formal dance training required.
  • Previous experience working with young children (ages [e.g., 3–14]) in an instructional or recreational setting.
  • Reliable, punctual, and highly energetic.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.

Resumes should include relevant training and teaching experience (1-2 pages), a dance sample that you feel demonstrates your current dance style, please also write a paragraph about how you see teaching our youngest dancers and how you see interacting with their families. 

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit training school dedicated to providing a comprehensive dance education with a solid foundation in ballet and modern techniques. The school is devoted to enriching students’ worlds for a lifetime by exposing dancers to the richness and diversity of dance expression.
