Workshops, Intensives, and Master Classes
Young Dance is excited to offer a 5-day, Krump workshop with local artist Cecil Neal! This introductory level workshop is an amazing opportunity for students ages 11-18 to learn about Krump: an expressive street dance built on energy, storytelling, and freedom. Whether this is your first time or you’ve moved before, all are welcome!
Things you can expect to learn: the basics—jabs, arm swings, stomps, poses, the bounce (and other grooves), an introduction to material/combos, and an introduction to character/style development. We’ll also work through basic mobility training and conditioning.
Class will include both drills and exploration of self-identity, helping you tap into that raw, authentic energy to bring into the space. Just bring water, a notebook, comfortable athletic wear, and an open mind—be ready to get awkward, uncomfortable, grounded, tapped in, energized, and so much more!
