Sensing Subtlety and Satisfaction: New Feldenkrais Series

Sensing Subtlety and Satisfaction:
Unlock Your Jaw, Soften Your Eyes, and Learn Self-Awareness Through Touch
An eight-week Feldenkrais series with Sarah Baumert.
Two classes weekly, April 11-June 9
Sundays, 4:00-5:00pm
Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30pm

This series begins with the understanding that touch is important for human development and well-being. Through novel movements, interspersed with rest, these lessons will help disentangle patterns of bodily tension. We will use touch-based mindful movement within each Awareness Through Movement lesson to help settle the system. Through practice, you will fine tune your ability to listen through the skin, let go of unwanted tension, and help open the door for a deep sense of calm.

These lessons can be beneficial to reduce facial, eye, and TMJ stress, reduce tension from wearing a mask, improve breathing function, and reduce overall stress in the nervous system.

See website for more details. Scholarships are available.

TU Dance Center: Dancing Together

Dancing Together
Offered virtually.

A child and parent/caregiver creative movement class. This virtual workshop is designed for children (ages two through four) and their parent/caregiver who are interested in a shared movement experience that engages the senses of curiosity and play. Both child and caregiver will participate in developmentally appropriate movement exercises that incorporate elements such as effort, shape, and tempo. Music will play an essential role in the class as students will be asked to respond to sounds as well as make sounds themselves. This class will give children and caregivers the opportunity to learn more about themselves and one another through the art form of dance.

Session 2: April 19-June 5, six weeks. No class on May 29.
Monday, 11:00-11:45am
Saturday, 10:00-10:45am
