Ray Terrill Dance Group presents the 21st annual Dances at the Lake Festival!

Join us for two free, open-to-the-public concerts at the Rose Garden at Lake Harriet.
Friday, July 14 at 7:00pm
Saturday, July 15 at 7:00pm

The festival features a variety of dance forms performed by both professional adult and youth companies. The “stage” for the shows is the large grassy area between the two fountains near the Rose Garden at Lyndale Park Garden. Audience members are invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket and some snacks, drinks, or a picnic and enjoy the unique opportunity of seeing dance performed at the Rose Garden.

Part meet and greet and part Q&A, this is an open invitation to all that are interested in Sten’s three-day Action Theater workshop “BE HERE NOW!” at The Arena from July 28-30.

Over the past 30 years, Ragamala Dance Company, led by Ranee and Aparna Ramaswamy, has catalyzed transformational change in the field of contemporary dance, becoming the leading Indian company in the U.S.

Join us at the gorgeous Coven Eat Street for drinks on the patio, dinner catered by Raag Progressive Indian Cuisine, and the opportunity to admire and acquire original paintings by renowned indigenous Warli artist Anil Chaitya Vangad, curated by Anju Khataria of Khazana.

Nic Lincoln presents a unique pay-as-able fundraiser at the A-Mill Artist Lofts on August 3. Venus DeMars and Gemma Isaacson show their support for Nic’s work by performing for his fundraiser.

Fundraiser Includes:

• Optional Beginning/Intermediate yoga class from 5:30-6:30pm
• Venus De Mars sings some of her greatest hits from 6:45-7:15pm
• Gemma Isaacson dances Escalade from 7:15-7:45pm
• Final bids for the silent auction at 8:00pm

All donations will fund a tour of Nic’s full-length show Escalade to Los Angeles, Austin, and Montreal in the fall of 2023.

Floorwork: a communal conversation and shared meal.

Every first Saturday! Floorwork was developed to hold conversations, knowledge sharing, and supportive space for dance artists and people who like to move.

The next Floorwork is being hosted at Red Eye Theater.

This August Floorwork will focus on practice/perseverance for a desired long dance career – conversation assisted by Marciano Silva dos Santos of Contempo Physical Dance and independent teachers and performers Erin Thompson and Leslie O’Neill. Conversation will be held over a communal meal – bring your own dish to share in our potluck! ARENA DANCES will supply beverages, plates, napkins, and utensils.
