The TU Dance Center Children and Teen Program introduces the joy of creative movement and beginning dance technique. Classes, divided by age, provide a comprehensive base on which to expand by developing body awareness, coordination, balance, flexibility, strength and musicality. Click here to download the 2022-2023 Children and Teen Daily Schedule. FELDENKRAIS® Classes with Krista Langberg and Jeffrey Wells

In-person FELDENKRAIS AWARENESS THROUGH MOVEMENT® classes.

Ongoing.

Drop in at East Lake Aikido.
With Krista Langberg or Jeffrey Wells, alternating weeks.
$10-25, sliding scale per class.

Monday evenings, 6:00-7:00pm
Friday mornings, 9:00-10:00am

Drop in any time to our ongoing Monday evening and Friday morning classes at East Lake Aikido in the Longfellow neighborhood in Minneapolis.

These classes are meant for anyone who is interested in deepening their self-awareness and possibilities of action, regardless of previous experience in the Feldenkrais Method. The space will be open 10 minutes before class begins. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early, especially if you are new to class, to sign in and familiarize yourself with the space. Wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in – having a long-sleeve layer is helpful to adjust to temperature shifts. We provide blankets to practice on and any props needed for specific lessons.

MotionArt Adult Modern Dance Classes

MotionArt’s mission is to share the art of dance and the joy of movement with people of all ages and abilities. We strive to enrich lives by fostering creativity, body awareness and self-expression in a fun, non-competitive, welcoming environment. We offer ongoing dance classes in-studio, on Zoom, and outside – weather permitting.

Paying the regular rate helps keep our organization afloat; however, no one will be turned away for inability to pay. There is also an option to pay what you can.

Next up: Come dance it out with a classic, body-friendly, music-based, history-infused jazz class with Karla Grotting on Friday, November 18! Winter is coming, so let’s get used to making our own heat, and fueling our fire with our dancing bodies.

Class runs 10-11:15am CST and remains hybrid, with plenty of in-studio space for masked students in-studio and a high-quality Zoom option for folks joining from home/ remotely. Drop-ins encouraged.

Young Dance Fall Classes

Since 1987, Young Dance has encouraged youth in our community to build body and spirit through the art of dance. Our mission is to transform lives through movement. We are an inclusive community where creativity flourishes, encouraging personal and artistic excellence through diverse forms of dance.

Young Dance is committed to offering a fun and developmentally appropriate curriculum. Our Teaching Artists are some of the best in cities, bringing their experience and expertise to a myriad of styles and techniques. The 2022–23 Session includes Afro-Modern, All Abilities Dancing, Ballet, Breaking, Creative Movement, Choreography, Dance Together, Hip Hop, Jazz, Modern, and the Young Dance Performing Company.

Classes continue through Sunday, May 21, 2023. The final weekend of the session culminates in performances at the Luminary Arts Center.
