Walker Art Center Open Call For Choreographers’ Evening 2021

The Walker Art Center and guest curator Valerie Oliveiro invite Minnesota makers to propose dances as part of Choreographers’ Evening on November 27, 2021, at 4:00 and 7:00pm. Choreographers’ Evening is an annual event celebrating Minnesota’s dynamic dance and performance communities. Forms must be submitted by August 6, 11:59 pm.

Audition Information

  • Choreographers must live in Minnesota.
  • Works typically range from 3 to 6 minutes in length and should not exceed 7 minutes.
  • Works-in-progress are accepted. This can include a live sketch, video viewing at audition, images, fabrics, or other materials to communicate the work in its completion.
  • Please audition with the same work that you would like to present.
  • Live auditions are strongly preferred; however, video submissions will be accepted.

Twin Cities Ballet Open Company Positions

Twin Cities Ballet has an open position for a male company dancer, Soloist and Principal level. Competitive salaried position, 34-week season. Strong classical ballet and contemporary technique required.

Submit the following audition materials by email:

  • Your resumé.
  • Two photos: first arabesque; and a headshot showing at least 3/4 face. Either attach small format photos or provide a link.
  • Video link showing classwork or performance clips, clearly demonstrating your classical ballet technique.
  • State whether you are currently eligible to work in the United States.

Volunteers needed for Live @ The Shed, featuring LDV

Hatch Dance and HoneyWorks are seeking ushers for the production of Live @ The Shed, featuring LDV, August 7 and 8.

In addition to access to the performance for which they usher, volunteers receive a comp ticket for a friend or guest, as well as a drink ticket to enjoy a beverage of choice from the Lab Taproom after their shift.

Responsibilities include checking in ticketed guests, running at-the-door ticket purchases, assisting in Covid Waiver signing, handing out programs, and directing people to general admission seating. A two-hour commitment. Shifts run either 2:30-4:30pm, 5:00-7:00pm, or 7:30-9:30pm.

Location is easily accessible between St. Paul and Minneapolis, off Highway 280 and Interstate 94, as well as the University Avenue bus 16, 50 and the Green Line LRT. Please contact Berit at bcahlgren@gmail.com with any questions or to sign up.

Threads Dance Nexus is Looking for Teachers

Threads Dance Nexus is looking for dance teachers of diverse backgrounds to join our team for our Fall Dance Session.

Session starts September 12, 2021. The ideal candidate should be an experienced dance educator, with a deep commitment to social justice, equity, and a heart for building and maintaining community. We at the Threads Dance Nexus believe dance is for everyone, and seeks instructors who can help students connect dance to their communities and themselves.

The Threads Dance Nexus is a brand new community hub that not only provides a home for the company but also strengthens the social fabric of our Minneapolis community through the connective power of dance.

BDT Company and Apprentice Auditions

Borealis Dance Theatre is seeking adult dancers and actors who move well to join the company for the upcoming 2021 season.

Sunday, August 1: 1:00 – 3:00pm
Borealis Dance Theatre is seeking apprentice dancers and actors who move well, ages 16-20, to join the apprentice program for the upcoming 2021 season.

BDT is a dance theatre company that creates large scale storytelling onstage through voice, movement, and collaborative process. Dancers who have advanced experience in any dance form are invited to audition. Actors will need to come prepared with a dramatic monologue of choice in addition to the movement audition.

Registration is required prior to audition.

 

Collide Theatrical Dance Auditions

Collide Theatrical is seeking dancers with strong acting abilities for roles in our 2021/2022 season.
Company dancers must be 18 years or older and vaccinated. Contract range anywhere from 9 months to 4 weeks.

Auditions for Concerto Dance by Jolene Konkel

Concerto Dance by Jolene Konkel is hosting auditions Saturday, August 14 from 1:00-3:00pm.

Concerto Dance is looking for new company members for our upcoming season! Dancers must have a strong jazz and modern dance background and be available to take company class and rehearse Wednesday and Friday mornings. Contracts start September 10 and include paid performance opportunities. Auditions are open to all. BIPOC women encouraged to audition, specifically to join the cast of Girls in the Band.
