MUSCLE BONE: Open Community Practice
July 3-9, 9:00-10:00am
Price: Free/donation
Instructor: Sam Aros-Mitchell, Yaqui interdisciplinary artist, performer, and educator.
Join me for an open community practice in MUSCLE BONE, an embodied movement approach developed by Japanese artist Min Tanaka that explores the dynamic relationships between the body’s tissues, gravity, imagination, and environment. These morning sessions are open to movers of all backgrounds and experience levels. Together, we will investigate sensation, attention, structure, improvisation, and the body as a site of listening and transformation.
The classes are being offered during my Juya Nokakamea residency at Red Eye Theater and are supported by the Minnesota State Arts Board Creative Individuals program and the Bridge Fund for Dance.
All are welcome. Wear comfortable clothes and be prepared to move, rest, and explore.
