Auditions, Jobs, and Certifications
The Phipps Junior Dance Company (PJDC) is an auditioned group of dancers in 5th-8th grade. They rehearse weekly and learn routines in the styles of jazz, tap, hip-hop, and lyrical. The company is non-competitive and focuses on giving dancers the opportunity for additional training, artistry, and performance. Directed by Megan Bauer and Greta Lewis.
Audition Details
Wednesday, May 20 and Thursday, May 21
4:30-6:00pm — Dancers may check in as early as 4:15pm. Dancers must attend both days.
Location: The dance studio at the Phipps Center for the Arts
Audition Day 1: Dancers will learn the combinations and skills needed to audition.
Audition Day 2: Dancers will perform the combinations and skills for a panel of judges for scoring.
Please bring all-black dancewear, all types of dance shoes you own (ballet, tap, jazz, turners, etc.), and a water bottle. Dancers must fill out the audition form here: PJDC Audition Form.
Rehearsal Information: 2 hours of rehearsal per week; date/time to be determined (in recent years it has been Thursday evenings).
