Auditions, Jobs, and Certifications
Following the conclusion of the Wilder Research listening phase, the Minnesota Dance Task Force is moving from assessment to action. Formed in 2024, in response to the Cowles Center dissolution, the Task Force gathered statewide input from artists, educators, presenters, funders, and audiences through a variety of methods. Clear, recurring needs emerged—and now it is time to build forward.
We are seeking nominations for a five-person Transition Team (includes small $500 stipend) to serve through 2026. This team will help move Wilder recommendations into action and guide the evolution of the Task Force into a sustainable engagement structure.
Nominate yourself or someone in community by Friday, March 20, 3:00pm.
The Transition Team tasks include:
- Exploring fiscal sponsorship models rather than forming a new nonprofit
- Strengthening statewide communication and resource platforms
- Building partnerships with organizations such as DanceMN, Springboard, and others
- Supporting communications, press outreach, and visibility efforts
- Assisting in planning biannual town halls (first targeted for June 2026)
- Ensuring geographic representation across the Twin Cities and Greater Minnesota
We seek nominees who:
- Represent diverse racial, cultural, gender, generational, and geographic identities
- Reflect varied dance styles and professional roles
- Bring collaborative leadership, energy and systems-thinking skills to the group
- Are committed to statewide impact and accountability
We strongly encourage Greater Minnesota representation and BIPOC leadership. Commitment includes monthly virtual meetings and regular progress reporting. There is a stipend available; additional funding pathways are being explored to support defined tasks. We welcome self-nominations and peer nominations. Please submit a brief statement outlining relevant experience and interest in shaping the future of Minnesota’s dance ecosystem.
The listening phase is complete. Now we build.
