Workshops, Intensives, and Master Classes
Threads Dance Project is happy to invite professional/advanced dancers to our company classes on Monday and Tuesday mornings this spring. Classes are held at the Threads Dance Nexus, which has free parking and is accessible by public transit.
The spring series of classes will be taught by Tapestries 10.0 choreographers Brianna Johnson, Rae Fox-Charles, and Lily Conforti, along with classes from founding Artistic/Executive Director Karen L. Charles. Please allow extra time for parking and registration if attending as a drop-in.
Each 90 minute class is $15 for those who pre-register online and $18 for drop-ins.
All classes are held from 9:00-10:30am.
Rae Fox-Charles: Mondays and Tuesdays, March 2-March 10
Contemporary movement class grounded in Release Technique. The class will invite dancers to focus on specificity, groundedness, momentum, and suspension as they are challenged to fluently integrate diverse movement vocabularies including but not limited to Jazz, Ballet, Horton Technique, and Afro-diasporic dance forms. The end goal being a refined personal understanding of physical effort and intention.
Lily Conforti: Mondays and Tuesdays, March 16-March 31
This class will be a mix of partnering and floor work focusing on equitable weight sharing, lifting fundamentals, flow and phrase work into and out of the floor.
All additional Monday/Tuesday dates February 10—March 31 will be either Ballet or Modern technique taught by Threads AD/ED, Karen L. Charles.
