Lanesboro Arts offers a competitive, paid internship program for emerging arts professionals. Each summer, Lanesboro Arts offers two, paid 11-week internships: the Gallery Internship and the Administrative Internship. These internships are flexible opportunities to lean into your strengths and build up new ones; Lanesboro Arts staff are motivated to tailor the experience to the intern. Both internships offer a $2,000 stipend and housing for the duration of the program.

Summer Programs Internship
This intern will gain experience working in an innovative arts non-profit creating awareness and opportunities for people to make art a part of individual’s everyday life. This position will work directly with the Lanesboro Arts Program Director and Executive Director on a broad range of communications and events activities in an active non-profit setting. This intern will assist in developing place-based programs such as Art in the Park, Rhythms on the Root concert series, the Lanesboro Artist Residency Program, and the summer arts education program Surprise Sculpture. They will gain hands-on experiences creating effective and impactful social media and website content, news releases, storytelling videos, and physical marketing materials. The intern will also assist in grant research/proposal writing, membership data-entry, create and maintain organizational systems, and general administrative work. Strong writing skills, or a desire to develop them, are a must.
Summer Gallery Internship
The Gallery Intern will be immersed in the daily operation of a fine arts gallery, and will gain experience in communicating with artists, uplifting artist’s work through in-person and digital communications, working with customers, hanging exhibitions, planning receptions, and managing gallery sales. The gallery internship provides an opportunity to actively participate in the community engagement, public arts education education, creative advocacy and sales efforts of the Juried Sales and Exhibition galleries. Strong writing skills, or a desire to develop them, are a must. This intern will work with the Lanesboro Arts Gallery Manager and Program Director.
