Performances and Events

“10 x 10: Dance on Film” is a selection of dance films from and about Lebanon, curated by Studio Amalgam and presented by Sharon Mansur/The Cedar Tree Project. This special event connecting local and global communities will be shared on Wednesday, November 12, at 7:00pm CT, in person at the Winona Arts Center, Winona, MN, Dakota land. Homemade Lebanese refreshments will also be available.

This evocative and unique program features ten short films by twelve artists made in and about Lebanon over the past decade, including Sharon Mansur’s “1001 Arab Futures.” Each work carries a piece of that country’s landscape – intimate stories, experiments, suspended moments of persistence. Since 2015, Studio Amalgam has become a dynamic and central hub for the performing arts. This event is also a way to support the only independent dance space of its kind in Beirut, a home for creation, exchange, and community.

Featured artists include: Amy Dang, Wafaa Celine Halawi, Dalia Naous and Kinda Hassan, Yara Boustany and Nader Bahsoun, Petra Serhal, Racha Baroud, Lilliane Rahhal, Sharon Mansur, Jana Younes, and Einleil.

Admission donations starting at $10 will go towards supporting Studio Amalgam’s vital work during their 10th anniversary season. Donations that night can be made via cash, check, or Venmo. Reservations requested. Please email smansurdancer@gmail.com to reserve your spot, or if you are unable to attend but would like to make a contribution.
