Cost: $12 per class or $60 for the complete session

Experience the gentle, yet effective benefits of Zena Rommett Floor-Barre® with certified teacher, Sally Rousse. Floor-Barre® uses the floor to correct and refine body alignment, strengthen joints, and address musculo-skeletal functions. Based on ballet, Floor-Barre® creates long exquisite lines. A pioneer in injury prevention and rehabilitation, Zena Rommett’s work is recommended by notable medical practitioners. Certified since 2017, Sally Rousse teaches group and private classes to all people. The method is part mediation, part exercise, and part physical therapy, and highly recommended for dancers to prevent and recover from injury.

My pedagogy shifts away from the exclusive, often harmful, physical and cultural stereotypes, and leans towards a wider, more inclusive, joyful landscape. What matters to me is creating a sense of safety and play, grounding us all in the present as we acknowledge the past and look for the potentials of the future. As my research in site-based work reveals, the body is the first site, and that site is alive, intersectional, fluid, flowing and moving, taking up space in traditional and provocatively new ways all the time.
