Responsibilities:
- Teach full-time in a liberal arts environment, including courses in contemporary dance techniques, history, theory, composition and performance.
- Serve as Dance Program Director.
- Oversee the dance curriculum and minor program, with a commitment to diverse approaches to dance beyond a Eurocentric lens.
- Direct and choreograph for the Annual Main Season dance production.
- Instruct courses in varied locations, at varied times, and via various media commensurate with department and university needs.
- Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge of field.
- Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to enhance teaching abilities.
- Contribute to student growth and development including student advising.
- Provide service to the university and community including the program, the department, the college, the university, and the greater community.
- Support Winona State University’s mission to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural, and economic vitality of the people and communities we serve.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate or master of fine arts in Dance Performance, Dance Studies, and/or Choreography.
- Successful teaching experience at the university level.
- A record of creative or scholarly achievements in the field of dance.
- Commitment to teaching and mentoring from a dynamic multicultural perspective.
